RIESAL (Regional network for the promotion of the Internationalization of Higher Education in Latin America) is a project co-funded by the European Commission, within the framework of the Erasmus + CBHE program (capacity building in the field of higher education). The CBHE projects are transnational cooperation projects, based on multilateral associations, mainly between higher education institutions and partner countries.
In the last decade, internationalization has become an essential component of the strategy of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to fulfill its institutional mission. These changes have gradually reconfigured the processes followed by universities to cooperate internationally. In the case of Latin America, despite some progress, obstacles are identified that hinder a more coherent intervention at an international level. The project aims to contribute to improving the management culture for internationalization in HEs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
